meet the characters..

these are the four characters featured in the show.
Far left is katie, who was the puppeteer of tiger.
left middle is Danielle who was the puppeteer for lily
Middle right is Grace, who played Aunty Mable
On the right is Hannah, who plays Kate the main character and presenter of the show.
All four girls above also sang the theme song.

meet the puppets..

here are my two puppets to be featured in tigerlily. It is of course quite self explanatory, the puppet in the right, the lamb is named lily and is the well behaved puppet in the show, who worships the main human character kate.
On the right is tiger, the badly behaved puppet. The tiger is a good animal to used because they are not the sort of animal to be usually associated with vulnerability and shyness.

facial expressions..

Keith Harris, who is pictured above, in both photos, was famous a few years ago for his shows with his sidekick puppet, Orville. Not only was he a puppeteer, he was aslo a ventriloquest.
The top picture, it is him and Orville. Orville was the good and innocent puppet, and his face shows this. He has a fixed smile, and it is obvious that he is supposed to be the good character.
However, the character on the right, cuddles, is the mischievous and naughty character, and you can tell this by the smirk on his face.
Although they are only animal puppets, it is amazing how you can still portray strong facial expressions.

the freedom of speech..

puppets that are used in more adult programmes are often used to channel forbidden and often controversial things, or things that the puppeteer is too afraid to say because of peoples reactions.
In South Park, the character of Mr Harrison, uses his puppet, Mr hat to voice his sexuality, as well as his opinions of people.Even after people accepted that he way gay, he still used mr hat to convey his homosexual emotions. Mr. Garrison often blames Mr. Hat for something unethical such as being a racist and appearing with the KKK protesters.
Often, if a person is scared of someones reaction about something they want to say, theyw ill voice it through their puppet, and act shocked as if they disagree with the statement.

ancillary task dvd..

i went on httpwww.play.com and i went onto the childrens section and found animated childrens dvds. The succesful aspects of both dvds are that fact that both contain the recognisable characters that are featured in the show, so that it looks like it is part of the show. Also, both have the same writing and logo as the show and the mise en scene for both works reallyw ell as there are bright volours, and big bright pictures.
Also, the peppa pig one shows other dvds for sale, using the front cover for advertisment.
