I looked on ebay.co.uk and typed in 'hand puppets' into the search box. I thought about maybe making my puppets, or getting somebody who does textiles for alevel to help me, but because i want a professional finish, i think i am only going to get this is if i buy the puppets in and then customise them. I also need to be careful that the puppets dont resemble any other well known puppets such as Basil Brush, elmo, sooty, they need to look different.
I wanted to go with the idea of animals, as different animals have different connotations.
Above is the one of the results of my search, and I believe a monkey will be perfect, as monkeys are associated with being mischievous and naughty, and this will fit the criteria of my badly behaved puppet. For my well behaved puppet, i believe a young looking animal will be perfect, to make it seem even more vulnerable.
a lamb would be the perfect animal to feature as the well behaved puppet. It is white, which represents innocence, and people associate lambs with easter, and life and think of them as cute, so ideally, a lamb would be perfect!
